Our acoustic slat wall panels have been designed to be installed simply and efficiently. We recommend screwing the panels directly into your wall through the acoustic felt. However, if you want to enhance the sound absorption further then by screwing into battens you can maximise this effect. To do so please follow the optional steps 3 & 4

03 STEP 1 What tools will you need

04 STEP 2 Preparing the surface

05 STEP 3 Mounting the battens (optional)

09 STEP 7 You did it!
YOU WILL NEED:
To install your panels we recommend screwing to the wall.
Alternatively, you can chose to use a construction glue or grab adhesive to glue directly to the wall.
PREPARE YOUR SURFACE
Start by preparing the wall. Clean the wall and remove any screws, nails and other fixtures on the wall.
MOUNT THE BATTENS
(This is an optional step to maximise sound absorption)
Please note this is an optional step in the process.
For optimal sound absorption the first thing to do is to mount battens on to the wall. We recommend that you keep a distance of 60 cm between the battens.
By mounting battens on the wall it enables you to add mineral wool between the battens and once the panels have been fitted the wall will obtain Sound Class A, which is the highest attainable sound dampening class.
As an alternative you can choose to install the panels directly to the wall.
This will still improve the acoustics of the room and the wall will reach Sound Class D.
ADD MINERAL WOOL BETWEEN THE BATTENS
(This is an optional step to maximise sound absorption)
Insert a 45 mm. mineral wool between the battens. The mineral wool can be cut using a knife and added in between the battens.
FITTING THE PANELS
Mount the panels on the wall by drilling the screws (35 mm.) through the felt and into the battens (if using) or directly into the wall. We recommend 15 screws per panel.
If installing into ceilings then make sure they are screwed into ceiling joists.
CUTTING THE PANELS
VERTICALLY
You may need to adjust the size of a panel once you reach the end of the wall. Use a tape measure to mark where you need to cut. We recommend measuring twice! Once you have measured where you need to cut, use a knife to cut through the felt. Your panel is then ready to mount to the wall.
HORIZONTALLY
Use a pencil and tape measure to measure and mark out how much you need to cut off your panel. We recommend measuring twice! Use a saw, such as a circular saw, to cut along your mark. Your panel is now ready to mount to the wall.WELL DONE!
YOUR WALL IS COMPLETE!
